General folder created in Teams points to the wrong area

I am so confused.  I made a Teams site for an existing SharePoint group.  I expected the default location of the files tab to be at the top of the Library, but it created it in a folder deeper in my library.  Now I am stuck with it.  What the what?!  I know there is no way to move the folder.  I also know that if I delete the Team I delete the site, which has a ton of stuff in it.  Am I just stuck?  This is ridiculous!
