Effect of changing user app permission policy from Global to a custom one

Let's assume the Global default app permission policy has 25 apps allowed under Microsoft apps. Whereas a custom policy 'Apps for analysts' has only 20 apps allowed. What will be the effect of a user being changed from Global policy to custom 'Apps for analysts'. Will the 5 apps not in custom policy be removed from their teams client

  • As mentioned in the documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-app-permission-policies#considerations-when-using-app-permission-policies

    - A user can't interact with any functionality of an app that the user isn't allowed to use.
    - App setup policies work together with app permission policies. You select apps to pin in setup policy from a set of allowed apps. However, if a user has an app permission policy that blocks the use of a pinned app, then the user can't use the app.

VasilMichev Ummm...my question does not relate to app setup policy? It solely relates to app permissions policy and that too when switch is made from Global Org wide policy to a custom policy. If Global policy has 25 apps and the custom policy has 20 apps then question is whether user will be blocked from using the 5 apps they previously had access to.
