Does the files tab in Chat (not channels) actually work?

Hi,    Does this files tab actually show anything uploaded or shared in this chat? I know how it works in a Teams Channel, but what about smaller 1-1 chats (for example)?   I had a client, appare...

    Hi, adding to the above that there's an ongoing service degradation that's affecting the Files tab.
    TM242990 "Users are unable to search content or view files in the Files tab in Microsoft Teams."
