Desktop version not working: only online!
- Apr 03, 2020
I everybody, I fixed the issue by updating windows from 8.1 to 10 (I had a license).
Hope this would help!
Thank you
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, I followed you suggestions and re-installed the desktop version, but as I start a call, it crashes and restart itself.
Any other solution?
I could think of a driver issue or may be the firewall.
What setup are you using? Laptop with integrated camera? Are you using a headset? What devices have you configured in Teams? Does the behavior change if you unplug them or change devices in Teams settings?

Does it also crash if you make a test call in the teams audio/video settings? How to do this is also mentioned in the link above.

As for the firewall, I've already added teams.exe to the allowed app. I've also tried to stop Windows firewall and make a test call: doesn't work anyway.
As for the rest, as soon as I try to change the Settings or to make a test call in the desktop version, the app crashes and restart itself. However, the listed audio/video devices are correct.
I use a Asus laptop with integrated camera and no headset.
Thank you...

Can you check the windows event log for errors during the time when the app crashes? Does this give any details?
You could also check if asus provides any driver updates for you PC.- D4nielaApr 03, 2020Copper Contributor
Dear paul-lange
sorry, I was not able to answer up to now.
Can you teach me how to report the event log?
Meantime, I will check for ASUS updates.
Thank you,
Daniela
