Default environment in activities

We have several approvals set up. When my team members look in the activities area the environment is set to their personal productivity environment and they don't see the activities right away. They want to be able to set the default to our production environment. My environment is defaulted that way, but I am not sure why or how to change that. Is there a setting somewhere where they can change that default setting to our production environment instead of their personal productivity environment?
