Contact list no longer available in new Teams version
When new teams go live, can I keep using the old version? The new version only has a chat list and no contact list. I regularly use my contact list to determine if someone is in the office. ...

I have same issue.
I tried to stick with old version to have that function of 'contacts' in chat.
Today, looks like my organization installed new version and I am forced to switch to new version, so I can't select 'contacts' from chat.
Please take it back.

BSusP You should be able to close it by right clicking the systray icon and then start Microsoft Teams Classic from the start menu. I've been fighting that for a couple weeks.
Also, you may need to do it twice before the classic version will start.
They're really trying to ram the new version down our throats, and they still haven't fixed the contacts list issue that everyone is bitching about.- BSusPJan 02, 2024Copper ContributorI did. And I am trying to keep old version so far.
You are right, there were several ways new version is pushing me to use it; new version promotion or notification of 'company IT installed new one'...
