Changing the organiser of a Teams Meeting
- Nov 26, 2021
PatrickP2021 The co-org. meeting role is about to rollout. You have the roadmap id above.
This is what to expect.
Co-organizers will be displayed as additional organizers on the meeting roster, and they will have most of the capabilities of an organizer in the meeting.
Co-organizers can do the following:
- Access and change meeting options
- Bypass the lobby
- Admit people from the lobby during a meeting
- Lock the meeting
- Present content
- Change another participant’s meeting role
- End the meeting for all
Co-organizers cannot do the following:
- Create & manage breakout rooms
- View & download attendance reports
- Manage the meeting recording
- Edit the meeting invitation
- Remove or change the Organizer role
Peter2wxin do you have any idea if it is in the road to add this option ?

ChristianJBergstrom would it be possible to also allow the co-organise to manage the meeting invites and the recordings. This will be really useful when the organise is not around and would need to delegate it to someone else to manage it

ChristianJBergstrom I believe all the "cannot" are the most essential functions required for co-orgs. It really doesn't seem there is a need for the "rollout" as what is needed is still restricted to just the organizer.
- Feb 03, 2022Agree that it would be awesome if you could change the organizer but still you can set up a meeting without the organizer present by using Teams meeting roles/Teams meeting options. Co-org. Role just makes it even simpler.

ChristianJBergstrom - I have a meeting series that was created by one of the owners of a team in a Team's General Channel. That person has now left the company and the other owners of the team are not able to download the attendance report. We also had a huge issue today where attendees were clicking on the same link and being directed to two different meetings - one the actual meeting and one a cancelled series. Is there a way as the Owner of a team to download the attendance report of the meeting that was created by the separated employee or does the series need to be cancelled and rescheduled?
- WolfseraphJan 03, 2022Brass ContributorThe whole point was a need to manage breakout rooms! When will this come??

ChristianJBergstrom no you can not create a meating and set someone else as organiser, and you can not have anyone but the organiser go between breakoutrooms, and olny one person can be organiser.
Or has that been fixed?

ChristianJBergstrom Tx for the info and looking foward to test it. Need to know if I really can transfert the organiser role to someone else. I am working a the legal industry and this option is really needed. We still use Webex because it is possible within. 😞
