Cannot transition free Skype account to free Teams Account

I think i know what the problem is but i do not know how to resolve it.   I am currently in my Skype account and have access to all the details  HOWEVER since, i believe, i somehow set this account...

Hello,

 

Are you using Microsoft Work or Personal account?

Do you have paid personal (or family) subscription or you are using Business subscription?

Are your personal and working accounts using the same emails?

    Hi,  thanks for replying.

     

    I am on MS personal free Skype account and trying to transition to MS Teams free version to continue my personal connections and communications.

    ONly my person email is on the accounts.   The same personal email that i seem to have set up two accounts with unknowingly.  One i never used (the first one set up) and i do not want or care about, and the second one i have used for years and want to transition to Teams.

     

    And even though i am in the second one, in Skype now, if i click thru the links in Skype to transition to Teams it only wants to deal with the first one, (the one i do not want) and not the second one, i do want.

     

    TO get in to my second one currently i have to log in with the User name i created for it as the email will only take me to the first one.  And as i try to transition to Teams, eventually it always wants my email for the account and thus then goes to the first one.
