Can you delete the last teams organization

I know it has been said once and again how to delete an organization in Teams but in my case the typical solution does not work.

I only have one organization, the one of an ex-employeer that I left 3 weeks ago. Now, I can not delete it, not even uninstalling and installing again removed that organization. As I need to use teams for invites I get for other customers the teams only organization keeps on opening, and no mater what I try... it is always coming back and being an annoyance at my daily work with other customers.

Do you know a way to remove the last organization from teams?

  • Hi, that won’t be possible. Best thing is to get the company to permanently delete your account. Refer to GDPR and removal of data for ex.

Perhaps you can create a Teams free org. and then leave the other. Not sure as I still not fully understand your scenario. Attaching this anyway, hope it gets sorted.

  • raullapeira Hi, not exactly sure what you mean to be honest. Are you saying you can't leave the org here? https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations

If your account is disabled you will need to contact the tenant admin who can delete the guest account (or enable the guest account so you can leave the organization).

    Attaching this as well https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/external-identities/leave-the-organization

      Thanks for the feedback ChristianBergstrom.

Basically the company I worked at won't delete my email (say mailto:raul@company.com) and in my teams that email seems to be somewhere and won't disapear completelly even after I uninstall.

I am trying to have a teams installation where this user and organization is not even present, but uninstalling and deleting the installation folder  + reinstall did not work.

      Any ideas?.

raullapeira Hello, just to sort things out. You have left a company previously being an employee? Or you have left a company as contractor for ex. (guest user)? Are you using Teams free now with a personal account (have your own organization)?

Sounds very odd that a company won't delete your account. And if you can't leave the org. yourself as a guest user (?) they have disabled that account. As long as you're in their tenant as a guest you'll see that org. when signing in with those credentials.
