Can anyone search on Shared Channels?
I have tested shared channels on 6 tenants now and have yet to see search work. Search returns no results regardless of the query or user. There are no results in MS Teams or the SharePoint site. The SharePoint and MS Graph APIs return no results. I have had a ticket open for 10 weeks. MS Support said this is a known issue, but they will not provide an ETA on a fix.
I suspect this is an issue for everyone. However, now that Shared Channels are publicly available, how is this not a bigger deal? I find it difficult to believe that Microsoft went ahead with the release with search broken. But I only see a few related posts and bug reports. I would expect to see more.
Am I just unlucky and none of my tenants work? Or is this a widespread issue, but no one else has noticed? I think such a major bug should be publicly acknowledged with an ETA on the resolution.

Search on Teams Shared Channels / underlying SharePoint site seemed to be working on a few of the tenants I have tested on. (Which weren't working before)
This is really great news!Renier-365Fanatic Supported notified me two weeks ago that they were pushing out a fix to one of my tenants. Unfortunately, search is still not working. I'm glad to hear they weren't bluffing about a fix being available. But I wish they would actually push out it to my tenants.
I am experiencing the same problem in private channels.
What about "Content search of private channels" in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/content-search#content-search-of-private-channels ?
Do actions need to be taken for this to work? So also for shared channels?I could be wrong, but I believe that is only related to compliance, not the standard SharePoint/Teams search.
To clarify, file search is broken. Posts do appear in search results in the Teams app. I am fully focused on file search, as we have done a massive migration to Shared Channels and now none of our files are searchable.
jcgonzalezmartin, are you sure it's a shared channel that you are testing? Could you post a screenshot from the SharePoint site with search results? This is what I get on every shared channel, SharePoint site:
The crawl logs show the files have been crawled. And searching for "*" would generally return everything in the search index. But we get zero results, regardless of the user.
I have been a SharePoint developer for 15+ years, so it's frustrating being kept in the dark on an issue and not having access to fix it myself. My guess is the authentication provider changes on Shared Channel sites broke security trimming in search. I just don't understand why it would work for some tenants, but not others.

Yep, it's a shared channel that had a single file stored and it's returned when doing a search in Teams or in the SharePoint Site. In SharePoint I have used also the "*". Se attached screenshot as a proof.
I did a test on a MAC MS Teams Teams-versie 1.5.00.21551.
The search box at the top of Teams seems to only work for posts here.
No ressults on Sharepoint site.
