Block recording for specific meetings

Is it possible to block recording in MS Teams for specific meetings?  We want people to be able to record virtually any meeting they have, but we don't want them recording ones that the organizer decides are confidential.

Thanks.

  • No, but you can set user specific policies for what users that can start a recording!
But you can’t set different levels of confidentiality on meetings or separate them any way

adam deltinger Thanks for confirming.  That's what I thought.  It's disappointing because not every meeting created by people (or even a specific person) will be confidential.  We may need to purchase a Teams license for a dedicated "Confidential Meetings" account, which seems like a waste when MSFT could just create an Organizer based option to allow recording or not.  I'll head over to Voice and create a request for that feature.

Alex Carlock Is there anything on uservoice?

A confidential switch or at least some kind of "ask all participants for consent" should be integrated.
