Best practices for Teamsite for Meetings

I’m new to Teams and researching best practices to prevent sprawl. I’m considering creating Teams for ongoing collaboration between departments, particularly for those with regular check-in meetings. My plan is to use the planning board for tracking Action Items and the calendar view to keep track of cross-team events. 

The goal is to support meetings and any collaborative projects effectively. While there will be some duplication in updating Azure DevOps, I can manage this (though I wish Planner were more robust!).

Has anyone tried this approach with Teams? Are there any potential pitfalls I should be aware of?
