bad quality audio
- Nov 06, 2020
You can fix it by changing the device properties of you headphone. You have to disable "signal improvement". Sorry, i use the german version, so i am not sure if the names are right
I added a screenshot, perhaps this helps more.
I am having the same issue. I think it might be Teams trying to isolate the voices in the audio.
When listening to music through headphones and starting a Teams call, the audio quality drops dramatically. I can "fix it" by changing the audio output of the call to my laptop's internal speaker in device settings and leaving the music playing through my headphones.

PS:
BIL GATES, PLEASE GO BACK TO MICROSOFT AND START FIXING SOFTWARE ISSUES RATHER THAN HEALTCARE ONES, YOU ARE GOOD AT MICROSOFT, NOT MICROVIRUS :)))
- Micha1121Mar 11, 2021Copper ContributorDear Simovdabvbg,
I updated my Windows 10 for you and I now have the newest Version available to me (Version 20H2 OS build 19042.867). They changed the settings and I had the problem again, but i was able to fix it:
Go to: Settings - System - Sound - Device properties (from Output) - Additional device properties (located on the right side). Then go to Tab "Enhancements" and check the box "Disable all enhancements". The go to Tab "Advanced" and uncheck the box "Give exclusive mode applications priority".
After that restart the application you want to use as a music player (if it is currently running). After that I had no sound issues with my music anymore.
I really hope this will work for you as well. Please let me know.
Best regards,

I'm currently using teams via a Virtual Machine and I don't have the option to go to Tab "Enhancements" and check the box "Disable all enhancements". The go to Tab "Advanced" and uncheck the box "Give exclusive mode applications priority".
I've tested many times my headphones and there is no problem with them.

Hi!This is the first workaround I have seen on this very annoying problem.
Would someone know an equivalent for macs?
(Since the original question is about that)
Thanks

Would love to know if there is an equivalent setting for the OSX.

Dimitry Izotov and all respondents: I hate to pass the buck but if this is really a recurring issue for the Mac version, someone should open a ticket on the Uservoice feedback forum and everyone vote on it. I did a search and nothing yet shows up for iOS bad audio quality.

Thanks, this has been bothering me for months! The checkbox in English is labeled "Enable audio enhancements" - I've attached a screenshot in English, just to make things a big easier for people.

You can go to Settings > Devices. Enable High Fidelity-musicmode. That works here, I also disabled Noise suppression, but not sure if that's part of the solution.
