Back button in Teams switches back to previous Teams options instead of previous webpage

I have added a new App to Teams. The app displays our intranet. But when pressing the back button to navigate to the previous intranet page, Teams switches back to the previous Teams module (for example Chat or Calendar).

So Teams has back/forward buttons at the top but it looks like it is for the Teams functionalities. 

Is there an option to navigate back on an embedded website?
