Assign the same line number to multiple users in Microsoft Teams
Hi is it possible to assign the same line number to multiple users in Microsoft Teams? If it is possible, does every users that share the same number need a phone license? Thank you.
- Jun 07, 2021Every user utilizing PSTN capabilities will need a Phone System license. But to utilize a common number you will need to look into call queue's.

And maybe a combo of callerID policies for outbound calls.

There used to be a field in TAC where you could assign an outbound caller ID (free text field, not a service number) to a voice route, or sbc or something. We used to use this to assign a caller ID for providers that would not accept a call if a user did not have a DID assigned. I can't find it now. Has that been replaced?

1. In Teams Admin, create a call queue or auto attendant resource account.
2. Assign the shared line number to the resource account.
3. Create a Caller ID Policy (Teams / Voice / Caller ID policies)
Enable Override the caller ID policy.
Replace the called ID with "Resource account"
Select the resource account from step 1
4. In Teams Admin / Manage Users - select the users and select new Caller ID policy
