As a participant, how to mute all but the presenter?

I'm not sure I understand, it should be the teachers role to keep the lesson well controlled, and they will have the ability for mute and otherwise limit the students. Perhaps they just need to know how to do that better for you.
By all means explain your requirements and the impact on uservoice. I would observe that this would be technically complex for Microsoft to achieve at there is only one pre-mixed audio stream

This will have to be a new feature to be built into MS Teams. So that participants can “Avoid Hearing Audio” (not Mute) other participants and listen to only selected few.

Mohananangelo Hello again, as both Steven and I mentioned this can be controlled. Perhaps this link will make it more understandable for you? Keeping students safe while using Teams for distance learning (microsoft.com)
- May 10, 2021I agree Steven, the organizer should utilize the available options controlling the meeting.
- May 10, 2021I know what you mean, there's actually a UserVoice request for that here https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/40080520-mute-all-except-the-current-speaker
