Apps in private channels
Hi
Are Microsoft ever going to allow apps such as forms and planner to be used in private channels in Teams sites? i believe in 2019 this was being looked at, but as of 2024, we seem still not to be able to do this. These are such useful apps and would bring great benefit to private chanels
- elipetersCopper ContributorUse case... you have an important project planned that you didn't need anyone below admin staff to see... having a private channel that can do more than just post and files is important ie. planner

Hi kevd1506,
as of now, private channels do not allow most of the tab options due to the security model and backend architecture.
Apps like Calendar and Tasks (Planner) are not directly available within private channels as these channels aren't linked to a Microsoft 365 Group.
There isn't anything in the Microsoft Roadmap regarding this feature.
You can give feature using your Microsoft Teams by clicking on ... > Help > Give Feedback or you can post your feature request on the Microsoft Feedback Portal (Microsoft Teams · Community).
