Adding material to returned assignments in Teams

was wondering whether it is possible to add files when returning an assignment in Teams. For example, I sometimes receive pictures of hand-written assignments which I then annotate on my tablet as a PDF. Is it then possible to add the annotated PDF to the assignment I want to return.

Since all of the students' handed-in files are stored under 'Submitted files' on Sharepoint, I tried adding an additional file there! Should it not appear in the assignment section of the respective student in Teams? It does not seem to work. Is it possible to enable this as an administrator?

Best regards

  • Koalito76It is by design. it does not appear on the student assignment. You have two options

    1. If it is a word, powerpoint or excel -  you could edit the document in the assignment and put your comments.

    2.  You can upload the Document to the submitted folder and then take the link of the uploaded document and put it in the feedback. This way the student will know to click the document. Hope this workaround works

  • Hi,
I provided one solution to teachers of my school for Microsoft Teams Assignments or online papers corrections ( pdf format) using Acrobat Reader feature.
Please check this video created by me regarding the same.

SUPARNA KANSAKAR I have tried your method but it says that I don't have permission to access the sharepoint link and told me to contact server admin. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me through this problem. Thanking you in advanced.

To retrieve the link for the Teams SharePoint site, you need to go to Files Tab in General Channel of your Class Team and then click on 'Open in SharePoint' button. The teams  SharePoint site for your class team will be opened in the browser tab. You need to coy the URL starting with 'https' and till your <<Class team name>> from the address bar of the browser

Please view the video created by me for the details.

The points explained in the video are as follows:

        1. How to retrieve Teams SharePoint site URL?

        2. How to add different Class Teams SharePoint sites to Acrobat Reader ?

        3. How to remove Teams SharePoint sites from Acrobat Reader?

Koalito76 iPad user here. I find myself using Files or OneDrive to open the jpgs and PDFs that my students attach to assignments, and I can write comments directly through those apps. When I return the assignment, students are able to see the edited file that they had sent me.

Considering that the OneDrive app has the drawing tools, it would be nice to be able to do this all within the Teams app. It would save me the hassle of having to dig through folders to find the student work that I’d like to comment on.

Technically work around works, but so many clicks to get down into the document for each student, especially considering doing so for a full class of people. Also, the students can see your edits before you Return the assignments. Faculty need more control of the grading process directly in the Assignment review window, including automating releasing rubric/documents for student self-review when Turned In, not allowing student review of comments or annotations until assignment is Returned.
