Microsoft 365 Backup - Azure Grant

Hi,

I'm working for a small non-profit here in the UK, and they've recently received the Azure $2000 grant.

Does anyone know if the grant can be used with Microsoft 365 Backup provided through Microsoft Syntex. It says you need an Azure subscription for the pay-as-you-go billing, but it doesn't appear on the list of Azure services.

Thanks,

Rich

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I have added some information that you might find helpful pertaining to your question. Nonprofits can use the Azure credits to purchase all Azure workloads created by Microsoft (excluding Azure Active Directory, which is licensed under Enterprise Mobility and Security). You can view the whole list of services on the Azure services page

The sponsored Grant creates its own Azure Subscription tied to the nonprofit account. It will have its own billing profile and credit applied. You should be able to select the Azure Sponsorship Subscription in Syntex to set up your Back up in Microsoft Admin Center. You will need to create a resource group for the backup.  Here is some documentation to help you below.

    Microsoft 365 Backup Setup

Set up Microsoft 365 Backup | Microsoft Learn

Follow steps 2 and beyond to set up the back up. If you don't see the sponsorship subscription it may not have been activated, which helps set up the pay as you go, or it may have its own Azure sign in that isn't linked to the Microsoft 365 account.

    I hope this information helps.

    All the best,
