Microsoft Forms Bug Hyperlinks Lost When Editing Section Subtitles

We have identified a reproducible issue in Microsoft Forms affecting hyperlinks in section subtitles.

Existing formatted hyperlinks work correctly, and duplicating sections preserves them. Changing a section title also does not affect the hyperlinks.

However, editing any content in a section subtitle causes all existing formatted hyperlinks to lose their hyperlink functionality. Newly inserted formatted hyperlinks also fail to persist after editing.

Full URLs continue to work correctly.

This suggests an issue with how Microsoft Forms processes and saves rich-text formatting in section subtitles.

This was working till last week.  Any ideas on how to go about it?

  • Your comparison is useful: duplication and title edits preserve links, while editing the subtitle removes them, and literal URLs remain usable. That points toward a problem in the subtitle editing or saving path, but it does not confirm a particular backend cause. Before changing a live form, duplicate it and reproduce the issue there with one section and one harmless link. Check the saved result after reopening the form and in respondent Preview, not only while the editor still has focus. Compare another supported browser and another editor account if available. For continuity, use the full URL workaround you already verified, or avoid editing a working subtitle until you have a tested replacement. Send Microsoft Forms feedback with the minimal reproduction, affected time, browser versions and before-and-after screenshots. I cannot confirm an official fix or release date, so I would not rebuild the entire form yet.
