Major Trouble Activating Win. 11 Pro After Hardware Change

Your Microsoft account link helps recover a digital license after a hardware change, but it does not make every Windows key transferable. Open Settings > System > Activation and confirm the edition is Windows 11 Pro; a Pro license will not activate Home, and the reverse also fails. Then determine whether the old license was a retail key, a preinstalled OEM license, or an organization’s volume license. A retail key can be entered under Change product key after it is no longer used on the old PC. For a digital license, run the Activation troubleshooter and choose I changed hardware on this device. Preinstalled OEM licensing normally remains with the original device, while volume activation depends on the organization.
