I'm setting up a form where depending on the role in the organisation I only need participants to fill in a certain set of questions i.e Q.4-12, Q. 13- 18 etc. When I set up brancing I can get it to...

You could try to configure each question to follow on in the right order.
E.g. Q1: I work in IT so now it takes me to question 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. On Q12, change the branch setting from Next question to End of the form.
So essentially, set the last question in the set (e.g. Q.4-12, Q. 13- 18 etc) to End of the form.
See if that helps solve the issue?
