Syncing calendar with Bookings for a shared email account
The issue is that Bookings doesn’t sync with a standard shared mailbox, which is why the option to let calendar events affect availability is greyed out. Bookings only works properly with licensed user mailboxes or resource mailboxes that can publish availability. If you want the shared account to sync, you’d need to assign it a proper license so it behaves like a user account. If that’s not possible, a common workaround is to set up a resource mailbox instead, or keep a licensed staff account on the Bookings page and have it forward appointments to the shared account. That way you can still keep everything centralized while making sure availability shows correctly.
