we are a new bookings user - on our initial tests we get this error too - which means bookings is utterly useless to us.

There are no rules, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. For some people it work for some not.
In cases where it doesn't work, going incognito may or may not help.
Crazy!
Echoing same issue. Could not complete request errors. And I was so excited to find this...it's a shame.
