Appointments Scheduled in Calendar View not being sent to staff and not showing in Sent folder

When creating an appointment via the Calendar view there is no email sent to the staff informing them of the appointment. The appointment shows up on their calendar. There is also no email saved in the "Sent" folder of the mailbox.
