Add Time Off not working?

I am trying to use the "add time off" function for 2 schedules and every time I press the create time off button, nothing happens.  I tried both on the two calendars that actually need to be blocked and on myself which has no restrictions and I cannot get the "create time off" to stick.

What am I doing wrong?

We are using MS Booking for three years now and this year there a lot more bugs then before and we haven't change the services that much (only staff availability has change).

I tried to put a day off in different ways and none work, here they are :
I usually do this : I book a meeting in my MS TEAMS calendar and it blocked all appointment in booking and yet this year, it does nothing.

    • I tried to do the same in outlook calendar : nothing again
    • So I went into the calendar booking, set up a day off (the whole day) and assign myself to it. and my appointment spot are unavailable up to 7h00 pm only, and people can still book with me after that time... ???

So I check my schedule, my time zone in booking, in teams, and i check the calendar time zone in booking et everything is set to the sime time zone...

So that's is also how I realise why I am always doubled booked, even if my calendar is set to affect availability, what I put in MS teams or outlook never actually affect MS Booking (but it did last year...)!?!?

I was able to resolve this by ticking the "Events on Office calendar affect availability" option. Found under the Staff members setting in Microsoft Bookings.

Have had success resolving this issue by ticking "Events on Office calendar affect availability".

In Microsoft Bookings: Click "Staff"-> Select a staff member -> click "Edit staff" -> Tick "Events on Office calendar affect availability" -> Click "Save changes".

It still takes time to show the staff member a "Not Available". But if you try to book them it will no longer let you.

Best of luck hopefully it helps

Also experiencing this issue. 'Add Time Off' feature is not actually blocking time off from the Bookings calendar. Please fix asap.

This has started happening to me in the last week with online version of bookings using Microsoft365 and Teams - Any Update?

  • aetarpley DanielGregory-RCC MarlonSeidl030 thank you for reporting this and apologies for the trouble caused. A fix for this is being rolled out and it should resume working shortly. Please let us know if you continue to see this going into next week as well.

In the interim, you could try blocking time on staff calendar by using another service or by creating a new service for time off.

        @davisjr

I am also having the same issue. Occurred suddenly and nothing happened after I clicked "Create Time Off".

Also for an existing Time Off created for a staff, the Calendar Page under the staff also showed "Time off (deleted service)".  Very strange and never happened before.

        Please advise! Thanks!

aetarpley I have the same problem.

Not the best solution and hope Microsoft is working on this, but for me it helped to delete browser cache. afterwards it worked for one calendar, then i had to delete the browser cache again.

    (maybe private mode)

additionally i had to add the time off for every user individually.

    hope this helps!

  • aetarpley I'm glad someone else is having this issue, and to know it's not just me. Hopefully, it's a technical error that can be fixed soon.
