The Windows App isn't viable at present

The Windows Copilot app is not viable for real work because it only stores three conversations.

Edge Copilot and the mobile app preserve full history and sync across devices, which makes them usable for long‑term projects.

The Windows app should match that behavior or be retired. The inconsistency breaks workflows for users doing multi‑month creative and strategic work.

    Hi jmachats !

I don't think there is quite a hard "three conversation" limit.

When you're signed in with your Microsoft account, Copilot is actually designed to do what you're asking for: keep up to 18 months of history and sync it across the Windows app, Edge, and mobile. So in principle the Windows app should match the others.

If you're only seeing a handful of conversations, it's usually one of two things. First, worth checking you're fully signed in on the Windows app, because signed out, it won't save history at all. Second, if you are signed in and history is still missing or not syncing, that lines up with some known bugs people have reported where the Windows app doesn't sync properly with the backend. In that case it's a fault to report, not the intended design.

A couple of quick things to try: sign out and back in on the Windows app, make sure memory and history are turned on in settings, and confirm you're using the same account everywhere. If it's still inconsistent after that, it's worth raising through Copilot support, because that's a sync bug rather than expected behaviour.

    Hopefully this helps!
