The Windows App isn't viable at present
Hi jmachats !
I don't think there is quite a hard "three conversation" limit.
When you're signed in with your Microsoft account, Copilot is actually designed to do what you're asking for: keep up to 18 months of history and sync it across the Windows app, Edge, and mobile. So in principle the Windows app should match the others.
If you're only seeing a handful of conversations, it's usually one of two things. First, worth checking you're fully signed in on the Windows app, because signed out, it won't save history at all. Second, if you are signed in and history is still missing or not syncing, that lines up with some known bugs people have reported where the Windows app doesn't sync properly with the backend. In that case it's a fault to report, not the intended design.
A couple of quick things to try: sign out and back in on the Windows app, make sure memory and history are turned on in settings, and confirm you're using the same account everywhere. If it's still inconsistent after that, it's worth raising through Copilot support, because that's a sync bug rather than expected behaviour.
Hopefully this helps!
Hi Reub,
It's jmachats - not sure they renamed my profile jmachats1
Literally the day I wrote that I opened up the windows app and there was a sidebar with all the past conversations that were in my mobile and Edge app. I know it was not there before - CoPilot had previously confirmed the windows app had a different architecture than the mobile and Edge app.
Thank you for your reply! If only I could get it now to stop freelancing and giving me info I did not ask for and follow instructions explicitly, I would be golden
Thanks again!
