So many different CoPilots - confusing, unproductive
This situation is understandably challenging, and many users share similar concerns I can imagine including myself. Those who have spent years working confidently with VBA, macros and SQL now find themselves navigating a rapidly changing landscape. Features appear, disappear or relocate with little warning, making it difficult to maintain consistent workflows or trust long‑established methods.
The limited and often delayed communication around these changes only adds to the frustration. Tasks that should be straightforward — such as your recent mail merge — can become week‑long exercises in troubleshooting, only to reveal that the underlying issues stem from background updates and shifting functionality rather than anything you have done.
It is entirely reasonable to feel as though you are constantly adapting to moving goalposts. You have developed significant expertise over many years, and the transition to new technologies — including AI‑driven tools and emerging concepts like agents and quantum computing — can feel premature when the current systems have yet to settle. What can we do but accept the chaos, breath and carry one....what's the alternative where work is concerned?
