Restrict SharePoint Agents - PAYG
Hi All,
We are planning to trial SharePoint Agents, but during the configuration of Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) services, it appears there’s no option to scope access to specific users or SharePoint sites.
Can access to SharePoint Agents be scoped to particular users or SharePoint sites? I don’t see this option in the PAYG setup.
Given that the PAYG configuration is under Org Settings, how can we manage multiple Azure subscriptions within a single tenant — for example, to support usage across regions like Europe, Canada, Australia, and the UK? Currently, the setup only allows selection of a single Azure subscription.

It appears that there may be limitations in scoping access to SharePoint Agents within the PAYG setup. I recommend checking for any available documentation or updates from Microsoft that might provide more information on scoping options. Additionally, reaching out to Microsoft support could provide further insights or potential workarounds for managing access to SharePoint Agents within your organization.

I thought there was the option to scope to specific agents?

Maybe that is just for message packs.

The PAYG model makes it very difficult to make agents broadly available - especially in an education setting where different access and cost controls may be needed for students v general staff v power users. Without the ability to limit or cap access to PAYG at a domain or cohort level most organisations will just block agents all together which is not a great outcome but will be the default position of most IT departments without adequate policy settings being available to contain PAYG costs
