Prompt Lab: Three Critical Bugs That Make It Unusable as a Prompt Management Tool
I have to echo this concern.
I have seen mixed results across numerous users, but there appears to be a common issue.
Within the web version of Microsoft 365 Copilot (m365.cloud.microsoft), when you hover over a prompt and select “Save Prompt”, the system confirms that the prompt has been saved and will be available in your Prompt Gallery. However, when you subsequently open the new Prompt Lab experience, the saved prompt is often not present.
In further testing, immediately after saving a prompt, hovering back over it within the chat shows it as saved and even provides the option to remove it from the gallery. However, if you leave it saved and simply refresh the page, it no longer appears as saved. This suggests that the prompt may not actually be persisting in the first place.
The behaviour is inconsistent:
- For some users, prompt saving appears to work correctly.
- For most users, saved prompts do not appear in Prompt Lab.
- Some users still see the old Prompt Gallery interface when opening Prompt Lab.
- Some users have reported losing all previously saved prompts.
As it stands, this makes the feature unreliable and, frankly, unusable.
Can Microsoft provide an ETA for when this functionality will be fixed and made consistent for all users?
