Orchestrator + SubAgents

Hi, I would like to create a Parent Agent that can orchestrate other SubAgents based on topic, so I can also be flexible and expand/adjust the SubAgent population based on need.

Should I build in Copilot Studio using Topics or Visual Studio Code building a custom agent or ... ? How can I have a multi-agent framework, with shared but also dedicated knowledges?

Thank you

    1. Check the base configuration
    • Verify that the Orchestrator feature in Copilot Studio is enabled (requires administrator privileges).
    • Path: Microsoft 365 Administrator Center > Copilot Settings > Ensure that the “Cross-Application Automation” permission is enabled.

    2.Update or restart the service

    1. In Word/Excel click on File > Accounts > Update Options to ensure Office is up to date.
    2. Log out and back in to your Microsoft 365 account to refresh permissions.

    3. Test sub-agents step-by-step

    • Test the sub-agent functionality individually, for example:
    • In Word type: “Summarize my last 5 Outlook emails” (to test the Outlook sub-agent).
    • In Teams try: “Create a task from this chat” (testing the Planner integration).
    • If a sub-agent fails, target feedback to Microsoft.

    4. Check the error log

    • If an error code appears:
    • Press Win + R and type eventvwr.msc to view the Windows Application Log for errors from Microsoft 365.
    • In the Copilot interface, type: “Show the last error details” (supported by some versions).

    5. Submit Feedback

    • From within the application where the problem occurs:
    • Click Help > Feedback and check the box “Send diagnostic data”.
