feature request

As a daily user of Microsoft 365 and Copilot, I would like to share a suggestion that could significantly improve the user experience and productivity of professionals like myself.

Currently, Copilot does not retain memory between sessions or across applications. Each day, it feels like working with a new assistant who has no recollection of previous tasks, preferences, or context. For a tool named "Copilot", we expect a partner that grows with us, understands our workflow, and becomes more efficient over time.

I suggest the implementation of a unified contextual memory across all Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.). This memory would allow Copilot to:

- Remember previous interactions and tasks

- Understand user preferences and communication style

- Follow the user across devices and sessions

- Provide proactive and personalized assistance

Such a feature would transform Copilot into a true digital assistant — one that evolves with the user and becomes a reliable partner in daily work.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I remain available for any further discussion.

I believe long term memory is already on the roadmap for Copilot, leveraging the long-term memory feature in the latest Open AI modules.   My understanding is that if you have Copilot 365 then the long-term memory will work across all Office apps and that users will have access to update and delete items that are stored in the long-term memory
