Copilot memory works?
- Feb 27, 2026
Hi,
Copilot memory lets you save preferences and instructions so Copilot can personalize responses across sessions. You can tell Copilot what to remember (e.g., “always answer in one paragraph”), and these memories are stored and can be managed in your settings. The feature is available to all Copilot users, including those with Microsoft 365 Personal.
Currently, Copilot memory is still in preview, so you may notice issues like only the last memory showing up or Copilot not always following saved instructions. Both m365.cloud.microsoft.com and copilot.microsoft.com use the same memory system, but the experience may differ slightly depending on your subscription and rollout status.
