Copilot Function in Excel

How long does it take to get Copilot added to Excel functions when you have joined the Insider community? I have verified that my subscription meets the requirements, that all necessary boxes are checked off, and that it is updated to the latest version.  Thanks!

  • hi lola123 Even after joining the Insider community, Excel Copilot functions don’t appear immediately. Microsoft releases them in waves.

Typically  it takes 1 day to 7 days.
For some users, it can take up to 2–3 weeks, depending on the channel and Microsoft’s staged release waves.

Even in Insider programs, Microsoft does phased feature flighting, meaning:

Not all users get new features at the same time — even with the same version, subscription, and settings.

So if everything on your system is correct, a delay of a few days is completely normal.

    You can try below

    1.Force an update

File → Account → Update Options → Update Now
    Restart Excel.

    2.Sign out/in of Office

    This triggers license refresh.

    3.Switch to Beta Channel

Fastest path to get the new function.

    4.Test in a new workbook

Some features don’t activate in older files until a fresh workbook is opened.
