Deleting Sections in Word for the Mac

I have followed the instructions for deleting the sections from a word document but they do not work.  I was told to use the Home tab and select non printable but there is nothing like that.  Tried the Microsoft Tech support chat line and went through two sessions without getting the problem solved.  

Any advice?
