Convert PDF to Editable Word Document
There are so many permutations of Microsoft licenses I can't answer with authority as to which ones have the ability for Word to open PDF files. I know unrestricted subscription licenses do have the feature, and the feature always uses a Microsoft server and does not convert locally on both Mac and Windows. There is also a file size limit. Word preferences must be set to allow connected experiences.
PDF is a file format that is a container. The kinds of things a PDF file can contain is enormous. Many different programs can save content in PDF file format. If the program that saved the PDF was Microsoft Word and Office fonts were used, when the PDF is opened in Word for Mac or Windows the document should reproduce perfectly. But Word isn't going to gain features of other software simply because the file was saved in PDF file format. Expect formatting changes and content loss when opening PDF files that have content foreign to Microsoft Word. Some PDFs simply can't be converted by the web service.
