How to change the compliance-description for retention labels (the grey text below the label name)?

    Hi tgraham-legalops,

     

    Thanks for confirming! The grey text will always display the settings of the current label, not the future label after the 6 months. But, I think there is a bug that displays "delete" instead of "relabel".

     

    We actually are considering removing the grey text completely. We hear a lot of feedback that the end user shouldn't see the retention period and see only the label name. Any opinion on this?

     

    I will alert the feature PM of the display issue. After it is fixed the text will say something like "relabel after 6 months".

Hi tgraham-legalops - this grey description is automatically created from the retention settings of the label. I am not following the setting for the label. A retention label can have one outcome after the retention period is over. Does it delete the item, or does it re-label the item? It cannot be both. 
If you can please reply here or via direct message with a screenshot of the label like the one below I am happy to help you figure it out.

    EricaToelleThanks, Erica. Actually, I have a retention label that does both. I set it up to relabel after a certain period of time. In my example, I set 6 months as the grace period, followed by relabeling to a 3 year + delete label. The grey text, however, says "6 months delete", which is omitting the fact that there is a 3 year label in effect between the 6 months and the deletion.

        Removing the grey text would be great, actually. We have the admin notes for admins and the hover text (user notes) for end users already which can provide additional info if needed. I don't think the grey text is needed at all, but if it were to display "relabel" instead of "delete" in scenarios like this, that would be a major improvement nonetheless. Thank you, Erica! Is there a space I can watch somewhere to monitor the progress of this issue or be notified if and when the change takes place?
