Windows Autopatch • Dynamic group for device registering
Hi everyone
I want to create a dynamic group for Windows Autopatch device registering. The dynamic group should be able to find which user has an E3 license and then add his device(s) to this group.
So far, I haven't found any practical solution. So, it would be nice if someone could share his experience with automating this device registering process. Thanks for any advice 🙂
- Another solution could be to simply add all "Enterprise" editions of Windows. Assuming that all devices that isn't licensed Windows 10/11 Enterprise are running "Pro".
- AFAIK you can't do this. Dynamic groups can only target properties of the objects that you want to include (in this case devices). But you can create a simple PowerShell script, that will find these devices and add them to the group. Then you can schedule the script to automatically.
