WiFi profile does not work

I registered my device as a dedicated device for a single app, and I want to configure it so that it automatically connects to a network that the ESP32 generates, that is, a network without internet, but I am having difficulty doing this, I will show a photo of how I configured it and if there is anything wrong. I'll wait.

Note: Android Enterprise platform and does not have a password

  • Hello There,

Follow below things and I believe it will resolve your issue

    1. Wi-Fi Configuration: Ensure that the Wi-Fi configuration profile is correctly set up in your management console. This includes the SSID of the ESP32 network.
    2. Network Priority: Make sure the ESP32 network is set as the highest priority network.
    3. No Password: Since the network does not have a password, ensure that the security type is set to "None" in the Wi-Fi configuration.
    4. Static IP: If the ESP32 does not provide DHCP, you may need to configure a static IP address on the device.
I hope this resolves the issue. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

      Hello there,

Fortunately, the device connected to the network generated by the ESP32, but I'm noticing another problem. At random times, the Android device loses connection to the network by itself and has difficulty reconnecting, sometimes taking 1 minute or 10 minutes. I think it's because the network doesn't provide internet, it stays as "No internet". Is there a way to configure it to ignore this or something like that, so that it connects even if the WiFi generated by the ESP32 doesn't have internet? Remember that I configured it to reconnect automatically and that I didn't do any tests and there's no error on the ESP32 side.

And about what you said about "Internet priority", how do I do that?

      Thanks for the answer.

    Hi, Andr_Marino

    Yes, that’s correct:

1- To create our policy, navigate to Configuration Profiles under Devices, then select Android.
    2- Click on +Create | +New Policy.
3- Choose Android Enterprise and the Wi-Fi profile type, then click Create.
4- Add a name and description, then click Next.
5- Select your Wi-Fi type from the dropdown menu. Depending on your environment, you can choose Basic for WEP/WPA key-based authentication or Enterprise for certificate-based EAP/PEAP authentication. For this example, we’re deploying a Basic network.
6- Fill in the required details and click Next.
7- Now assign the policy as needed. If you have a campus-wide network, All devices or All users may work well. However, if you have different networks, consider group-based assignments (e.g., IT may have a less restricted network). Once configured, click Next.
8- Review the settings and click Create.

I hope this resolves the issue. Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.
