Shared Devices licenses?

Hi All

 

I'm in the process of creating a PoC on Android Enterprise / Microsoft Entra Multi App Shared Device.

 

With regards to licensing, is the following TRUE?

 

  • Device only license is required for the device
  • F1 licenses for end users

    Hi StuartK73, it all depends on how the device should be used in relation to the users using it. If we look at the docs (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/licenses#additional-information) we can see the following:

    A Microsoft Intune device-only subscription is available to manage kiosks, dedicated devices, phone-room devices, IoT, and other single-use devices that don't require user-based security and management features. For more information, see Device-only licenses.


    Device-only license limitations

    When a device is enrolled by using a device license, the following Intune functions aren't supported:

    • Intune app protection policies
    • Conditional access
    • User-based management features, such as email and calendaring
