Not getting Updated Monthly Updates few Devices
Hi Karimulla1125,
To troubleshoot devices that are not receiving Windows updates automatically when managed by Intune, you can try the following steps:
- Verify that the update policy is assigned to the devices. You can do this by going to Devices > All devices and selecting the devices in question. Then, click Properties and go to the Configuration policies tab. Make sure that the update policy is listed under Assigned policies.
- Check the Windows Update status on the devices. You can do this by going to Devices > All devices and selecting the devices in question. Then, click More > Troubleshooting > Windows Update. This will open a pane that shows the status of Windows Update on the device, including any errors that may have occurred.
- Try resetting the Windows Update cache. You can do this by running the following command in an elevated command prompt:
wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /defaultauth:"%windir%\system32\wuauserv.dll"
Then, restart the device and try checking for updates again.
4. Try restarting the Windows Update service. You can do this by running the following command in an elevated command prompt:
net stop wuauserv
net start wuauserv
Then, check for updates again.
5. Try running the Windows Update troubleshooter. You can do this by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and running the Windows Update troubleshooter.
If you are still having problems with devices not receiving or installing updates automatically, you can try the following additional troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure that the devices have a working internet connection.
- Make sure that the devices are not in a sleep or hibernate state.
- Make sure that the devices are not running on battery power.
- Make sure that the devices have enough disk space to download and install the updates.
- Make sure that the devices are not running any third-party antivirus or security software that may be interfering with Windows Update.
- Try restarting the devices in safe mode and then checking for updates again.
- Check the Windows Update log for any errors. The log is located at %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log.
- Try running the Windows Update Deployment Toolkit (WDT) to troubleshoot and fix Windows Update problems.
- Try disabling any temporary anti-virus or security software.
- Try restarting the device in a clean boot environment.
- Try updating the device's BIOS or UEFI firmware.
