How to remove Intune policy from a device after its pushed to the device
Hi, have you tested the following:
- Sync the Device: Ask the user to manually synchronize the device with Intune by navigating to "Access work or school" > "Info" > "Sync". This ensures that any updates or policy changes are properly applied.
- Create a Test Group and Exclude the Policy:
You can create a test group in Intune, add the affected device to that group, and then exclude this group from the policy causing the issue. After that, synchronize the device to ensure the changes take effect. Here are the steps:
- Create a test group:
- Go to Groups in the Intune portal.
- Create a new group (e.g., "Test Exclude Group").
- Add the affected device to this group.
- Exclude the test group from the policy:
- Go to the policy in Intune that contains the password requirements.
- Under Assignments, add an exclusion for the new test group.
- Save the changes.
- Synchronize the device:
- On the affected device, go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Click on the organization connection > Info > Sync.
Please let me know if the issue is resolved.
Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion. I do have an exclusion group, and this device is added into this group. It's not a dynamic group and I add the devices to this group manually which don't need some of the Intune policies. By the time I added this device to the exclusion group, the policies were already pushed to the device. When I checked a few days later, I could see that the password policies are not pushing to this device anymore (the exclusion group probably took effect), however when I change the password on the device, I'm still getting hit with the password requirements.
I tried the sync option on the device, rebooted the device but unfortunately, it's still the same result.
