How to migrate Exchange profile sync from all data to only contacts without user intervention?

In our environment, we would need to migrate from syncing all data to syncing only contacts in the Exchange iOS/iPadOS email profile. This could be possible using Intune iOS email profile. However while doing this change user receive a prompt to "enter the Exchange password" to authenticate account. How do we avoid this prompt and make this as silent change in backend?
