Edge for Android Smartscreen

Hi All

I hope you are well.

Anyway, is it possible to configure Edge for Android Smartscreen to:

  • Prevent end user bypass
  • Block potential risky downloads

I can see various methods and guides pointing to Edge App Configuration policies but just cannot seem to get the this to work on Android Enterprise Fully Managed devices.

Any help would be great.

SK

    Hi,

although you cannot directly block SmartScreen bypass via an Intune App Protection Policy for Edge Android, you can restrict downloads and data transfer (e.g., block “Save copies of org data”), which limits the damage caused by potentially harmful downloads. BR

On Android fully managed devices, SmartScreen in Edge has limited enforcement. Even with managed app configuration, “no bypass” and strict risky download blocking often don’t work the same as on desktop. Double-check the latest app configuration keys and device restrictions in your MDM, but some controls just aren’t fully enforceable on Android yet.

      Thanks for that buddy.

Was pulling my hair out trying to block downloads and prevent dodgy website bypasses.

Do you have links to a doc referencing this info as I can see conflicting info everywhere?
