Cannot uninstall apps on Intune managed iOS Device
Good Afternoon,
We have some iOS devices that are enrolled into Apple Business Manager and then fully managed within Endpoint Manager.
We allow users to sign in to iCloud accounts to install apps that aren't pushed out via endpoint manager, however when we go to try and uninstall these apps, there is no option to uninstall them, even though they are not required/mandated via Endpoint manager.
Is there any way to re-add the option to uninstall unmanaged apps?
Thanks!
- Hello,
Thanks for your reply. It appears that is the case for Icons, they cannot be moved or changed.
However we have found a way of uninstalling apps: Settings -> General -> Storage and you can then uninstall apps from there. Obviously any apps that are set as 'Required' will re-install if they are removed but for apps downloaded by the user can be deleted from there.
Kind Regards,
Craig
- enoch-sCopper ContributorWe are also trying to figure this out right now.
- enoch-sCopper ContributorIt looks like it is by design by apple when using MDM and Homescreen Layout:
"When you use the Home Screen Layout settings to add pages, or add pages and apps to the dock, the icons on the Home Screen and pages are locked. They can't be moved or deleted. This behavior might be by design with iOS/iPadOS and Apple's MDM policies."
