Why is the content of the new app launcher so static?

I thought the new app launcher would be an improvement but I guess I'm missing something. Users now have to click twice and scroll down to find their favorite applications.

 

In the previous version they could remove the unnecessary application icons and put the most relevant application icons upfront, so they were all accessible with one click.

 

In the new app launcher there are 14 application icons, half of them are useless to our users and only 2 (or 4?) seem to be personalised? Am I missing something?

      I was under the wrong impression that you could only add a few icon.

       

      Nevertheless it doesn't make any sense to me that you can't remove the default ones. We are not interested in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote Class notebook, Teams, Sway. They just take up space.
