UPN in Azure

Question…

 

If we edit the default user UPN from john.wayne to john.wayne.hr and the user logon name (pre windows) stays as john.wayne

 

Which one will be synched to Azure using AAD connect, john.wayne or john.wayne.hr?

    Unless you've changed it, it will be the UPN that is sync'd to Azure AD.
    The SAMaccountname and UPN are not related as far as AAD goes - so it's not uncommon for users to log into their AD with one username, and then into Office 365 with another username being their email address / UPN.
