Uploading and rendering ASPX files on SharePoint Online associated with a TEAMS team SPO site

I have been having trouble rendering "ASPX" files on SharePoint Online associated with a TEAMS team SPO site. I am a team owner with Admin permissions and files simply download instead of rendering as web pages. I try to do the same on a standalone SPO site - it works, but not on Teams.
