Update error for M365 apps on mac
No matter what I try my M365 apps (Word/Excel/PPT/OneNote/Outlook) won't update from 16.79 to 16.82. Your help would be very much appreciated. P.S. I am a computer user, but not an IT Manager. Thanks.
Specs are:
2023 Mac Mini M2 Pro, Sonoma 14.2.1
AutoUpdater version 4.68.1
Office365 Subscription (workplace), current apps are v16.79, and won't update to 16.82.
Things I've tried:
- Updating one app at a time using AutoUpdater
- Uninstalling/reinstalling all apps and re-activating.
- Updating AutoUpdater version
- Trying to update from both the Mac and Windows app store. Neither recognised that I already had the apps installed so I didn't have an 'update' option.
- Tried the 'MSUPDATE' process https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/mac/update-office-for-mac-using-msupdate. The result was a "No such file/command" error in the terminal.
- Tried the Terminal command here. Nothing at all happened.
- Tried switching off and on the "Allow in background" setting in Login Items on my mac.
- Changed my AutoUpdate 'Channel' from current to "Preview" and "Beta"

SOLVED!!
I manually updated each app using the update file on Microsoft's website.https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac#release-history-for-office-for-mac
